  3. Aus Liebe zum Kochen
    – das Video.

Oh boy, this is so very special to post for me today!

Ten months ago I started a journey with my friend Yvonne: to travel the world, to visit inspiring people in their kitchens, to meet creative minds with an incredible perception of cooking and how the world should or could see everything that comes along with food.

It has been an extraordinary time for us and I’m just so grateful for everything that has happened along the way. The book that’s been made while traveling will be out next year. Until then, enjoy this little motion teaser and stay tuned for everything else. x

New York also never disappoints me in bringing out the beauty of meeting new people: with some of these you instantly share what you keep your mind and heart occupied with. I still find encounter like this wonderfully surprising and more than delightful.

  6. Niky in her studio. Brooklyn, November 2013.
I recently got back from New York and brought tons of film with me. A couple of them include photos of my dear friend and great illustrator Niky Roehreke with whom I spent a sunny day in Williamsburg last week.

The most beautiful relationships are the ones that quietly grow over the years with people who care deeply about you. Who literally lift you up when there’s something to cheer about. Who get drunk with you because you really need to. Who encourage you to keep going. Who are your biggest fans. Who know how to comfort you with words. Who know when you really just need a hug. And who appreciate the worst and the best you will ever be.        Thank you.

I shot an still life editorial for the current issue of GZ Live, a jewelry and watches magazine that comes out twice a year. This assignment was so much fun to work on and I’m pretty stoked about how it turned out. It was shot the same week I injured my brain and I might have mumbled a lot of weird stuff on set. So thanks for the wonderful team that stood beside me and made it easy to do something so neat.If you enjoy the fancy stuff you should grab a copy.

  10. Kirsten Becken, Alsdorf, September 2013.
I met with Kirsten yesterday and took pictures in her lovely home. (That she will be leaving soon to live far away - okay, well, in Munich, but still.)Also, I’m off to Hamburg today to shoot a sparkly editorial tomorrow and please be patient with me: I might’ve bruised my brain in a car accident and I’m slower than ever.

Oh boy, it has been a month since I updated this blog. How is it possible that time is running so fast? There’s this certain kind of wind announcing the beauty of fall already.
I spent the last month traveling through Europe: Milan, Paris and Stockholm are pictured above. We have met so many great people, talking about food and life and love and oh boy, just everything. I’m slowly starting to realize how lucky I got with this project – not only because I get to see the world but because I’m meeting all kinds of inspiring people that put so much effort into making this world a better place.I would love to start showing you pictures of the book and tell you stories about our life on the road but we’ll have to wait until the preview is out in, well, I guess it’ll be next year then.
It’ll calm down the next weeks and I’m very happy to put more time into some small projects on the side. (Which basically means if you’re up to doing some new work, hit me up and let’s talk about it.)

  13. Anna, Hamburg 2013.
I took this photo of one of my all time favourite people a month ago when I was in Hamburg to shoot a fashion spread for NOVA, a german magazine that will be releasing its first issue in May and that you all should be excited about. It doesn’t feel like four weeks ago. It feels like ages ago!I feel like everything has changed: in a good way because we no longer have to hold out in the cold but can finally enjoy the sun.

How did your parents react to both Sulumbek and yourself becoming models? My dad wasn’t too fond of the idea at first but somehow he got used to it. My mum on the other hand is very proud and supports us!
